504 kW rooftop solar for an industrial knitted fabrics manufacturer in Exeter, Ontario
Over 80% of annual electricity consumption offset at a continuous industrial manufacturing facility.
A high daytime load against a roof asset approaching the end of its replacement cycle.
Syfilco operates an industrial manufacturing facility supporting the production of knitted fabrics and netting used across agricultural and industrial supply chains. Electricity demand is driven by continuous production processes, material handling, and facility operations, making long-term electricity cost exposure a meaningful operational consideration.
The objective was to implement a solar system that could offset a substantial portion of annual electricity consumption and deliver predictable, monitor-able performance without adding operational complexity.
Size to the service. Mount without penetrations.
Green Integrations designed and delivered a solar PV system sized to the facility’s annual electricity consumption profile, enabling solar to offset over 80% of annual electricity use.
Fronius Symo Advanced inverter architecture provides performance visibility and operational insight. TerraGen and S5 racking was selected for long-term durability and site suitability. Coordinated execution with facility operations achieved commercial operation on February 1, 2024.
The numbers, then the consequence.
- 01721,864 kWh of solar electricity generated annually.
- 0280.1% of the facility's annual electricity consumption offset by solar.
- 03System commissioned February 1, 2024.
- 04Improved visibility into electricity production and usage trends through Fronius monitoring.
Equivalent to removing 10 passenger vehicles from Ontario roads annually.
For the facilities and engineering audience.
The system consists of 504 kW DC (1,538 LONGi Solar modules) paired with 480 kW AC via Fronius Symo Advanced inverters. TerraGen and S5 racking was used throughout the installation.
The Fronius Symo Advanced architecture supports granular production monitoring and system diagnostics, providing ongoing operational insight for facility management.
Facility characteristics that shaped the design.
- Industrial textile and netting manufacturing facility with continuous production processes
- Consistent annual electricity demand driven by production equipment and material handling
- Large rooftop area enabling substantial system deployment
- Annual load profile supporting high electricity offset
